Cecilia Tengblad is an artist working with fine art, illustration and film. Currently at Roy Andersson Filmproduktion as a Production Assistant.She is educated at Konstfack in Sweden and she has an MA from The Royal College of Art in The United Kingdom. She is mainly working with portraits of people, animals and collage of classy cars. An interview with the Swedish actress Malin Arvidsson on the making of a portrait by Cecilia: The process of making a portrait begins with searching for a photograph of the subject. Cecilia searches for an expression which conveys the personality in the person being portraid. EndFragment

Was it easy to find a photograph of you and your daughter? Malin – Yes it was easy. We had the same taste and urge for purity, personality and presence in the eyes. Cecilia met up with you and Alfonsina in a Café for a chat. What happened during the chat? M – It felt like Cecilia got to see our personalities, one at a time and the two of us together, and Cecilia could then bring this experience into the portrait. How do you find the finished portrait compared with the original photograph? M – The portrait brought the photograph to a higher level. It was as if Cecilia started out with the photograph and made it become even more alive. One more dimension. Is Alfonsina happy with the portrait? M – Yes Alfonsina loved the portrait. Her experience from viewing the portrait was that it was acctually her looking out from the portrait. It is now hanging on a wall in her room. Would you recommend the portraits Cecilia creates? M – I do really recommend Cecilias work to others. It is an immense achievement, energy and sensitivity that lies behind the making of every portrait. She gives all that she has got to reach authenticity. What qualities do you see in Cecilias portraits? M – Purity and simplicity. And that they are so full of life! I feel that she succeedes to transfere a living soul that is always there, in the portrait, and continues to give energy to the spectator. A warm, inviting integrity. EndFragment
